MEng in Chemical Engineering and Diploma in Industrial Training

Our course gives you a sound understanding of both the chemical and process engineering fundamentals that you need to become a professional chartered engineer. In addition to a grounding in science, maths, and engineering, our students acquire practical abilities that are highly sought after by industry and complete a year working in the industry.

The MEng with DIT course is a 6-year degree that shares the same first three years with the MEng program. The Diploma in Industrial Training allows students the chance to work in the chemical and process industry, usually in 4th year. In the 5th & 6th years, students undertake a commercial tender exercise, working in multi-disciplinary groups to take on the role of a design house pitching for business to our industrial advisory board.

Students need to apply and be accepted for a place in the industry in order to qualify for the DIT award. Academic tutors will provide help and guidance on finding a placement.
