Sociology BA (Hons)
Our Sociology course allows you to develop your understanding of how humans shape and are shaped by the society they live in.
This Sociology course explores the latest Sociological questions and methodological implications. We offer a degree which focuses on academic excellence, high standards of methodological training and empirical professional experience.
We will support you to achieve your career and study ambitions, which is why if you complete our Employability Plus Gold programme or Changemaker Gold certificate alongside your studie and if you haven’t secured full-time employment 12 months after graduating* we will secure a three – six month paid internship for you, or support you into postgraduate study.

Campus Information
Waterside Campus
In the summer of 2018 the University of Northampton moved to the brand-new Waterside Campus. This seven-year project saw a neglected brownfield site transformed into a successful and impressive new campus that facilitated a radical re-engineering of the University in terms of both teaching methodology and governance structures. aterside is a waterfront site of 24 hectares on the edge of the town centre. Its successful completion has turned a derelict site into a leading facility in the higher education sector. The project brief emphasised integration, of the University into the town and local community, and of departments, facilities and teams within the University itself. New pedestrian and road bridges and cycle routes link the site to the town, and public facilities and commercial outlets are part of a Waterside experience which continues beyond the University to local historic buildings and parks.

Standard entry requirements apply. A typical offer would be:
- BCC at A-Level or DMM at BTEC.
- an Access Course must include 30 levels 3 credits at Merit.
- we welcome international applicants and applications from those with a range of non-traditional educational or professional qualifications.

Admission to this Foundation Framework is normally:

- however, we would also like to hear from you if you have professional or industry experience instead, a range of other qualifications or self-developed subject knowledge that relates to the course you wish to study.
