B.A. In Art And Design

The art and design major is designed to provide students with a dynamic and comprehensive instructional program in the visual arts. Students may earn a B.A. in Art and Design with concentrations in studio art or graphic design. The art and design degree program prepares students for careers as freelance artists or for employment with public and private organizations in various industries.

What You'll Study
Gain solid grounding in the fundamentals of color, art history, photography, and other core courses in our art major. Then focus your work with the Graphic Design or Studio Art track. You'll also sample courses in the performing arts and humanities and attain foreign language competency for a well-rounded cultural arts education.

Our on-campus studios (printmaking, drawing, painting, graphic design, ceramic, sculpture, and pottery), gallery, and museum-quality installations and traveling exhibitions let you connect with visual art every day. As an art major at NSU, you're a free member of Fort Lauderdale'’'s NSU Art Museum, where you can visit the latest international exhibit, attend an art talk or show opening, or serve as a volunteer or intern.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Students who have completed CXC or O-level certificates, HSC, BGCSE and CAPE must provide five passing scores in academic subjects and proof of secondary school completion. Transfer students must submit transfer evaluations from NACES-accredited organization.
