Master of Arts (Conflict Transformation and Management) Research
The programme’s depth is in its core courses in approaches to the study of conflict, conflict processes, and conflict resolution and management techniques, which are complemented by practical short courses in negotiation, mediation and facilitation.
Variety and specialisation are built in through interdisciplinary elective courses in areas such as development and conflict, world conflict and its management, conflict and regional integration and conflict in the workplace.
Students may choose a treatise or internship as a capstone element for the Master’s

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
The medium of instruction and examination at the NMMU is English.
Applicants from non-English speaking countries are required to submit proof of English proficiency before registration. The TOEFL or IELTS tests, available in most countries, are acceptable proof.
IELTS – 6.5 overall score with a minimum of 6 in each section.
TOEFL: PBT – 580 overall with minimums of 53 in listening, 52 in reading and 59 in structure/written
CBT – 237 overall with minimums of 19 in listening, 19 in reading and 25 in structure/written
IBT – 90 overall with minimums of 18 in listening, 17 in reading 22 in writing and 19 in speaking
