MSc in Built Enviroment (Project Management)
The purpose of the qualification is to:
Provide understanding of the management skills and techniques necessary to deliver sophisticated projects in an increasingly
competitive economic environment of South Africa and elsewhere, within time, budget and risk requirements of construction
clients and other stakeholders;
Develop analytical and methodological skills which are critical for management, decision-making and problem-solving roles,
and
Prepare candidates for advancement in construction consultancy in professional construction management, facilities
management, project management, and property economics and valuation, or careers in public service.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
The medium of instruction and examination at the NMMU is English.
Applicants from non-English speaking countries are required to submit proof of English proficiency before registration. The TOEFL or IELTS tests, available in most countries, are acceptable proof.
IELTS – 6.5 overall score with a minimum of 6 in each section.
TOEFL: PBT – 580 overall with minimums of 53 in listening, 52 in reading and 59 in structure/written
CBT – 237 overall with minimums of 19 in listening, 19 in reading and 25 in structure/written
IBT – 90 overall with minimums of 18 in listening, 17 in reading 22 in writing and 19 in speaking
