What you will study
Our MA Theatre course allows you to study at your own pace through online learning, so you can pursue your passion for theatre and develop industry connections around your existing commitments.
You’ll actively engage with relevant concepts and explore the rich heritage of theatre from a critical and theoretical perspective. You’ll gain an understanding of theatrical practices and develop your ability to evaluate significant historical, political, social and ethical developments in theatre.
Our broad range of modules incorporates relevant topics such as Theories of Performance, The Greeks, Contemporary Theatre Making, Political Theatre, Shakespeare in Performance, and Musical Theatre. You’ll also complete an independent research project that will allow you to specialise in an area of particular interest to you.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
A minimum of a 2:2 UK honours degree in a relevant subject, or a recognised equivalent international qualification. You must have previous engagement with drama, theatre and performance to apply.
