What you will study
If you study medical microbiology at Surrey, we will teach you about the biological and pathogenic qualities of microbes. This includes microbes which are good for our health in addition to the study of microorganisms that cause diseases. Another area of focus is immunology or the study of our reactions to diseases. You will also study the detection, management, and treatment of infectious diseases.

This course aims to develop you into a proficient research scientist and will, therefore, open up new career opportunities. During this course, you will join a research group for your individual dissertation project which will be supported with taught modules in research methods, critical writing and journal clubs.
