Course description
This course is a route into research positions within healthcare settings or doctoral/Ph.D. study.

The course aims to help you develop an in-depth understanding of clinical research processes and techniques and an awareness of practical and regulatory issues. You’ll explore the fundamental concepts and methods in medical statistics, and how to critically appraise statistics in the research literature.

The course is for anyone working, or aspiring to work, in the field of clinical research nationally or internationally.

There are two routes available:

  • Standard route 
  • NIHR route for Academic Clinical Fellows in Medicine and Dentistry.

Applicants may also apply using the CPD application process and start by registering for one or two modules and later transfer to a full masters program.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Entry requirements
A 2:1 honours degree in a clinical subject or equivalent professional qualification and experience.

Applications for the NIHR route are only accepted from doctors and dental practitioners enrolled as Academic Clinical Fellows in the local NHS Deanery.
