Civil Engineering with a Modern Language M.Eng

Course description
Study French, Italian, Spanish or German alongside the main disciplines of civil engineering. We'll give you a strong background in the core disciplines of structural engineering, water infrastructure engineering, fluid mechanics, and geotechnical mechanics, from both an analysis and a design perspective.

You'll spend your third year studying civil engineering at a university in your chosen country, coming home for your fourth year to complete the Integrated Design Project. This award-winning project is designed to consolidate your learning and instil valuable employability skills. Working as part of a team you'll apply your technical knowledge to a real-world problem.

The second half of the courses will allow you to focus on more specialised and advanced engineering modules and an independent research project.

Throughout the course, you'll take modules in the language and culture of your chosen country. When you go to Europe for your third year, you'll be taught in that language. This is a great opportunity to develop your confidence and independence. There's a shortage in the construction industry of linguists who are numerate, so this course makes you very employable.
