Biology B.Sc

Course description
Our three-year BSc focuses on whole-organism biology. Specialist modules cover animal behavior, evolutionary biology, ecology, genetics, climate change, and molecular biology.

Other options include biology and ethics, biotechnology and food, reproduction, genetics, and genomics. You can also take modules in biomedical science, molecular and microbiology, even philosophy.

There are over 60 modules to choose from, including optional field courses in the Peak District National Park, Anglesey, Ireland, Arctic Sweden, the Mediterranean, the tropical rainforest in Malaysian Borneo, and Tanzania. And there are opportunities for work experience, including the option of adding a year's work placement to your degree.

If you want to study biology, but don't meet the entry requirements to go straight into the first year, our Biosciences with a Foundation Year could be for you. After successfully completing the one-year programme, you'll progress onto the first year of your chosen degree.
