Cyber Technology MSc

This programme provides flexibility and a range of module choices to practitioners and relevant organisations in the telecom, consultancy and software/system engineering sectors, which enables them to tailor their training/education needs. Cyber Technology MSc consists of four main themes; Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Digital Forensics, and Management. It can be studied by combining modules from all four themes allowing you to specialise in your chosen area of interest. You have the opportunity to choose mixed pathways, for example the choices of modules could lead to a degree in Cyber Security with Management. This programme is developed in conjunction with our Industrial Advisory Group which includes: Deloitte UK, Airbus, BT, and Rolls-Royce.

Duration Option:- One year full-time (with optional one year placement available), 18 months for January starts.

Job Opportunity Potential

Graduates are prepared for positions in consultancies, software houses, or project management. They are also likely to be employed as cybersecurity specialists within law enforcement, government, or other related agencies, in commercial IT departments or security consultancies, or in other computing positions where cybersecurity is an issue. Graduates can also undertake further study towards a doctoral or Ph.D. degree.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Entry criteria

You should have the equivalent of a British Honours degree (2:1 minimum) in a relevant subject.

We are happy to consider equivalent qualifications from anywhere in the world.

India

  • A Bachelor's degree with 50%-60%, depending on the university you have studied and the course you are applying for.

Some courses have additional entry criteria such as a portfolio, work experience or require you to have a degree in a related field.

Sri Lanka

  • A Bachelor’s degree with GPA 3.0 (out of 4.0) for courses requiring a  2:2 classification, and GPA 3.3 (out of 4.0) for courses requiring a 2:1 classification.

Bangladesh

  • 4 year Bachelor degree from BUET with a minimum of 55% or GPA 2.75/4.0 OR 4 year Bachelor degree from a well-recognized university with a minimum of 60% or GPA 3.0/4.0
