MSc Human Factors in Aviation

From flight crew to cabin crew, air traffic controllers to aircraft engineers, the human element is vital to the safe and efficient operation of all aspects of the aviation industry.

Over the past three decades a better understanding of human behaviour has resulted in significant safety benefits, with the human factors discipline forming a cornerstone of every aviation safety management programme.
This specialist distance learning course is taught by staff with expertise in the academic and professional disciplines of human factors, ergonomics and occupational psychology within aviation. This course aims to equip aviation professionals with a thorough appreciation of all aspects of the discipline and how they can be applied to best effect in the aviation industry.

Please note: As part time you will be expected to take 90 credits each year, so pay 50% of the full time fee. Tuition fees for subsequent years are subject to increase

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants should ideally hold an honours degree 2.2 or above or an equivalent international qualification in a cognate, psychology, medical or engineering discipline, and be involved in the operational aspects of the aviation industry.

India

Students must achieve 60% in a 3 Year Undergraduate Degree or 55% in a 4 Year. Undergraduate Degree Students from the following Universities will be considered with 55% in a 3 Year Undergraduate Degree (unless applying for Health and Life Science courses): Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai (Madras), Anna, Amity, Andhra Pradesh, Aligarh Muslim, Pune, Bangalore, and JNTU.

65% in Standard XII English language from certain examination boards only (Central boards, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Uttarakhand)

OR

IELTS 6.5 overall with no component lower than 5.5 (except where course requirements are higher) and other acceptable SELT tests such as the Pearson Test of English (PTE).

Students not meeting the above can take the Coventry University English Test.
