Fashion Buying with Merchandising BA (Hons)

Learn about the diverse roles and responsibilities of a fashion buyer and merchandiser, and explore the associated roles that are key within the modern fashion industry.

You’ll develop in-depth knowledge of the buying cycle and the critical path, and key activities around trading the range, reacting to sales and managing sales promotions. The merchandising pathway focuses on the numbers behind buying a fashion range, its selection process and strategic stock management.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Entry criteria

Typical entry requirements 

  • Art and Design Foundation or
  • 112 points from at least 2 A-levels or
  • BTEC Extended Diploma DMM or
  • International Baccalaureate: 26+ Points including Art and Design

Plus, Five GCSEs grades 9-4 including English Language or Literature and Maths at grade 4 or above.

Alternative qualifications include:

Access - Pass Access with 30 Level 3 credits at Merit (or equivalent) and GCSE  English (Language or Literature) and Maths at grade C/4 or above.

We also accept the BTEC First Diploma plus two GCSEs including English and Maths at grade C/4 or above (if required as part of our standard requirement).

India

  • Minimum of 65% average in your four best subjects (excluding Hindi) in Standard 12. We may also check your standard 10 results in English and Maths.

2nd year - 3rd-year Undergraduate:

  • Entry to year 2 or 3 may be possible. You will need to supply detailed information including courses taken, grades achieved, syllabus, and a grading guide.

Sri Lanka

  • 55-65% in three A-levels, depending on the course you choose.
