BEng (Hons) / MEng Aerospace Systems Engineering
Did you know that the Airbus A380, Boeing Dreamliner and Eurofighter Typhoon each had key mechanical and electrical systems designed and developed here in this country? The UK is also one of few countries in the world with the resources to design and manufacture advanced helicopters.
The BEng (Hons) Aerospace Systems Engineering programme has run successfully for a number of years and is accredited by the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS). The new MEng programme will run for the first time in September 2019. Both programmes are designed to provide you the opportunity to learn the vital skills required to join the teams of aerospace systems engineers designing and developing systems for the next generation of aircraft.The aerospace industry provides one of the most challenging environments for the development and testing of new technologies. Offering a range of exciting careers, there is a growing demand for aerospace engineers with a systems focus and who are able to embrace the multidisciplinary aspects of problem solving to help design the next generation of aircraft systems.
We aim to develop a thorough, integrated understanding of mechanical, electrical and systems engineering and how this knowledge is applied in the aerospace industry. You will develop in-depth detailed design skills with hands-on access to our remarkable equipment, which includes a Harrier Jump Jet, flight simulation suite and the Mercedes Petronas Wind Tunnel as well as industry standard software. The course has achieved high levels of student satisfaction – at least 90% overall satisfaction in the National Student Survey (NSS) every year since 2015/16 and 96% in the latest survey.
Coventry University is ranked 3rd in the UK for mechanical engineering courses by the Guardian University Guide 2020.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Business Courses CU + CULC:
For general Business courses, students must achieve an overall score of 60% minimum in the Standard XII examination (no specific subject requirements).
For Finance, Economics and Accountancy courses – students must achieve an overall score of 60% minimum in the Standard XII examination (with 60% in Maths OR Accountancy OR Economics).
EC FACULTY:
Students must achieve an overall score of 60% minimum in the Standard XII examination. With 65% in Maths AND 65% achieved in another key subject relevant to the course applied for.

Core Engineering courses:
Must have 65% in Maths AND 65% in one from Physics/ Chemistry/ Electronics/ Engineering/ Further Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Computing/ Design Tech.
IT and Computing related courses:
Must have 65% in Maths AND 65% in one from Physics/ Computer Science/IT/ Computing/Design Technology.
Technology Engineering related courses:
Must have 65% in Maths AND 65% in one from Design Technology/Electronics
Electrical Engineering related courses:
Must have 65% in Maths AND 65% in one from Physics/Chemistry/ Electronics/ Engineering/ Further Mathematics/ Computer Science/Computing/ Design Technology
OR
60% overall achieved in a 3 or 4 years Engineering or Technology Diploma.
HLS courses
Students must achieve an overall score of 60% minimum in the Standard XII examination with a minimum of 65% in the key relevant subject; i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Physics
60% in Standard XII English language from certain examination boards only (Central boards, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Uttarakhand)
OR
IELTS 6.0 overall with no component lower than 5.5 (except where course requirements are higher) and other acceptable SELT tests such as the Pearson Test of English (PTE).
Students not meeting the above can take the Coventry University English Test.
