BA in Communications
This hands-on course builds the knowledge and skills needed today in the changing and dynamic world of media, whether is working online, in radio, TV or photojournalism, giving you the practical, real-world experience needed to succeed.
The BA in Communications is recognised by the NUJ and is conducted on a full-time basis for three years. Media-based training, both practical and academic, is central to the course with students learning to work in real journalistic situations over the course of six semesters.
You will gain a solid, theoretical understanding of essential introductory journalism production skills, media history and social structures.
You will significantly develop your writing, radio, video and photography skills, and explore reporting, feature writing and investigative journalism, through work with the college newspaper, magazine and radio station, while filming and editing your own short video pieces.
You will have the opportunity to write, edit and design your own publications, establishing a brilliant portfolio to show future employers.
Form your career path with further specialisation in two elective choices.
Option to further your studies in media with progression to Griffith's BA (Hons) in Commmunications & Media Production
