Master of Laws Legal Theory
The LLM in Legal Theory offers advanced training in the sources and methods of legal theory. The program explores a variety of theoretical approaches to law, including analytic, comparative, political, social and humanities-based approaches. The modules offered to allow students the chance to explore a variety of theoretical approaches to law.
- Study within the Centre for Law and Society in a Global Context (CLSGC), a home for multidisciplinary research into the global dimensions of law and society
- Undertake collaborative research within the CLSGC and attend our regular workshops, seminars, and conferences
- Your fellow students will come from the UK and more than 80 other countries, each able to draw on prior academic and professional experience from different jurisdictions
- Take part in networking and social events run by the Queen Mary Postgraduate Law Society

Degree requirements

A 2:1 or above at undergraduate level in Law or a degree with substantial law content.
Law graduates with a 2:2 honours degree who also have other legal qualifications and/or substantial professional legal experience may also qualify.
India
We normally consider the following qualifications for entry to our postgraduate taught programmes: Bachelor Degree (minimum 3 years) from selected institutions.
- UK 1st class degree: 70% to 80%
- UK 2:1 degree: 60% to 70%
- UK 2:2 degree: 50% to 60%
