MSc Food Economics and Marketing

Our MSc Food Economics and Marketing is a programme which provides critical training in applied economics, marketing, and quantitative and qualitative research techniques.
You will develop an understanding of economic and marketing aspects of food, including consumers’ decisions, globalisation in food retailing and manufacturing, and policy issues, and acquire the professional skills to work for world organisations such as the EU and Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), NGOs, international food companies and consulting companies.
This course is also available as PG Diploma and PG Certificate, and can be taken full-time over six months via modular delivery or part-time over two periods of six months.
Class sizes vary by subject and module, but emphasis is always placed on good contact time with lecturers. Learning occurs across a variety of lectures, seminars, tutorials and field trips.
Students have access to the University’s internet, printing and scanning facilities, and a full range of statistical and econometric software.Excellent opportunities exist for research, networking and personal development within each programme, as well as access to first-class study resources and employability support.
On joining this course, you will become a member of the School's Graduate Institute of International Development, Agriculture and Economics (GIIDAE). As a GIIDAE student, you will have the option of undertaking a placement during the summer period, however this is not a requirement of the degree.
