Graduate Certificate in Chinese
Program available at Hamilton and Tauranga Campus
Graduate certificates are intended to develop your knowledge and skills in a subject area that is different from your first degree's major. You may be eligible if you haven't studied for a degree before if you can demonstrate an interest in the subject area and a satisfactory academic ability. By choosing to study a graduate certificate you can quickly develop career competency in a single subject area.
A graduate certificate is a shorter version of a graduate diploma, is studied at the undergraduate level, and can be completed in the equivalent of one semester of full-time study.
China ("Zhongguo" – the Central Kingdom) has a civilization that spans 4,000 years, the longest unbroken civilization in the world. It was the center of East Asian culture for many centuries, exerting a strong influence on its immediate neighbors, including Korea, Japan, and Vietnam.
Over the last two decades, China has achieved the highest economic growth rate in the world. According to the World Bank and IMF estimates, in terms of the real size of its economy, China now ranks second internationally. It's home to one-fifth of the world's population and is poised to become a massive world force.
