Master of Arts (MA) in Maori Media and Communication
Program Available at Hamilton Campus
Are you seeking the ability to think critically and communicate well? A Master of Arts (MA) from Waikato will teach you the skills to work independently and see a major project through to completion. These are characteristics that are highly sought after by employers.
Enrolling in an MA gives you the opportunity to engage in independent (but supervised) research in one or more of a wide range of Arts subjects. Graduating with an MA provides you with a gateway to a higher research degree or to a wide range of careers.
When you study Maori Media and Communication you'll gain an understanding of traditional and contemporary forms of Maori communication. You'll explore the historical, political, cultural and social contexts of media and communication practices and how these relate to and interact with M?ori communities and M?ori cultural preferences.
The program will set you up with a foundation to develop the skills to analyze and comment critically on the development of M?ori media, policy creation and the representation of M?ori in modern practices.
