ECOLOGICAL ENGINEERING
The goal of the Bachelor's Programme in Ecological Engineering is to educate high-caliber professionals in the ecological field.
Upon the completion of the programme students will get be able to:
- assess technological innovations from a social and ecological perspective and assess their compliance with the biosphere laws,
- determine efficient consumption of natural resources and the principles of their restoration
- research theoretical and practical methods in physics,
- learn about fundamental constants in natural sciences, the structure of atomic molecular theory, natural state and its transformation,
- explore symmetry and energy conservation principles,
- apply the methods of substance identification and chemical composition
- learn how to use the programme software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, etc
- apply ecological design principles through automated design systems, draw and read technical graphs, technical schemes and
- learn to classify the types of the waste of petrochemical industry,
- analyze the aspects of environmental protection of multiple stage production
- develop remediation measures for environmental degradation
- apply the methods of ecological monitoring
- study the usage of water reserves in industrial production and the development of closed water supply systems
Ecological modelling is one of the crucial modules in the programme curriculum. One of the emerging issues of the modern era is the development of digital models of ecological objects and events based on the latest information technologies.
Students will gain valuable skills in the University labs Ecological Mobile and Geomatics labs, where they will have a chance to a develop a range of experimental techniques and approaches and and apply and investigate theoretical and conceptual knowledge.
Graduates can pursue their careers in different state organisations, Ministry of Ecology, Ministry of Agriculture, international and local environmental projects, NGOs, marine and fishing industry research labs.
