Postgraduate Diploma in Business

With the Postgraduate Diploma in Business, you develop advanced level business skills in as little as one year. If you want to build upon your undergraduate degree in a business subject area, this program could be for you. You will gain advanced knowledge and research skills that will enhance your career prospects.

This qualification is designed for students who want to gain a postgraduate qualification in stages. Pathways are available to the Master of Business or the Master of Philosophy (subject to completing research methods papers).

The Employability Lab hosts a number of events like career fairs, expos and presentations where – as potential employees - students and graduates can meet employers. We also run regular career development workshops and recruitment events.

We are connected with many employers who provide the leadership speaker series, industry panels and talks about potential employment with their organisation, including internship and graduate opportunities.

Past presenters include Samsung Electronics NZ, MYOB, Deloitte, BNZ, NZME, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Counties Manukau DHB and AR/VR Garage.

Your qualification at level 7 or higher is acceptable if your course lasted 30 weeks or more.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Minimum entry requirements

Completed one of the following or equivalent with a B grade average or higher in all relevant prerequisite papers in the selected business subject area:

  • Bachelor of Business OR
  • Graduate Diploma in Business OR
  • Relevant professional qualification approved by the Dean (or representative) to be equivalent to a bachelor’s degree

Admission to the Postgraduate Diploma in Business is subject to approval by the Dean (or representative).
