Foundation Year Sports Business Management (Foundation Year)

Whether you’re excited about sports clothing, or you want to get involved in funding for health initiatives, it’s a great time to be in the sports industry. There’s real demand for graduates with good business sense.

This course specifically prepares you for studying our BSc (Hons) Sports Business Management degree.

It will help you develop the skills and knowledge you need to study for an honours degree, even if you don’t currently meet the academic requirements.

Once you’ve passed, you’ll be ready to start your degree course. That means your degree will take four years, or five years if it includes a work placement or year studying abroad.

Creative ideas

By applying management theory to the real world as part of the full degree, you’ll develop the skills employers are looking for. You’ll develop creative ideas to tackle real-life business challenges. You could be running recruitment campaigns, managing events, developing a marketing strategy or conducting market research.

We organise guest lectures from industry experts and field trips to major sports clubs. With our connections across sport, on the full degree you can volunteer for organisations or events in the area, or work on an industry placement with organisations like Puma, Nike, or JD Sports. And with the option to spend a year studying abroad, there’s plenty of opportunities to boost your CV.

With your newly developed management skills, gained as part of the full BSc (Hons), and your impressive network of contacts, you’ll be ready to transform the business of sport.
