Civil and Structural Engineering with Year in Industry MEng Honours (H296)

This professionally accredited MEng Honours degree includes a year in industry and an additional year of Master's-level study, boosting your employability with advanced knowledge and work experience.

You focus on the design of structures, such as bridges and buildings, through topics including sustainable engineering systems and construction management.

During the fourth year you develop your research skills through an investigative research project. You also study advanced topics in structural engineering, such as:

  • seismic resistant design
  • unique and unusual structures
  • structural reliability and analysis

Between Stages 2 and 3, you take a paid year in industry. This is a great opportunity for you to gain first-hand experience in the civil engineering sector. Some host companies even offer their placement students a job after they graduate.
