Internships and Placements
Get ahead in the world of work with an industrial placement. Thanks to our strong business partnerships and cutting-edge applied research activities, we can offer you a wide variety of opportunities from short internships to year-long paid placements. More than half of our undergraduate programmes offer placements as part of the degree. See the progression tables on pages 39 and 43 to find out which degrees you can progress to that offer a placement.

India

Minimum 60% in each subject from XII Standard exams
Advanced entry to Level 2 or 3 can be considered with equivalent study from Bachelor's degree

For programmes requiring an IELTS 6 with no element below 5.5 (or equivalent), we can accept 70% in standard XII English as evidence of English language.

Undergraduate
High School Graduation Diploma completed with a G.P.A of 2.7 plus one of the following:

ACT Composite score of 24 minimum 
SAT(post March 2016) – score of 1000 minimum
SAT (pre March 2016) – score of 1500 minimum
AP’s - Generally we are looking for 2 Advanced Placements at minimum grade 3
2 SAT Subject Tests at a minimum score of 500
For some programmes across our academic schools, we will require ACT or SAT combined with AP’s or SAT subject tests at higher grades or in specific subjects

Year 1
Scottish Higher: BBBB (incl either Maths, Physics/Technological Studies/Engineering Science) Nat 5: C (English and Maths) if not achieved at Higher level
College HNC/D: HNC Civil Engineering - graded unit B. HND in Built Environment/Engineering subject evidence of Maths/Physics at Higher or equivalent level

Year 2
College HND: Civil Engineering - graded units BB
If Fluid Mechanics unit has not been completed as part of the HND, a pass in the GCU Fluid Mechanics test will be required.

Year 3
College HND: Civil Engineering - graded units AA (incl Hydraulics unit)

English language IELTS score of 6.0 with no element below 5.5

Part-time applicants must be in suitable full-time employment
