B.A (Hons) Multimedia Journalism (year 3 entry)
This direct entry programme has been designed for individuals with a passion for journalism and current affairs. The Multimedia Journalism two-year degree takes your knowledge of print, radio, television and the web, further. It is the only undergraduate programme in Scotland accredited by both the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) and the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC).
You will gain the practical skills needed to succeed in this competitive industry. Shorthand, news reporting, page layout, video, audio recording and editing as well as of course writing for online and social media. You will study media law, government, ethics and the media industries you will go on to work in.
Our academic staff are all experienced journalists with excellent industry contacts. Guests from the BBC, STV, Newsquest and The Scotsman Publications frequently deliver guest lectures, mentor students and facilitate a wide range of placements and extracurricular opportunities to boost your CV and career prospects.
This programme offers Erasmus+ funded exchange and non-European exchange opportunities.

Graduates have embarked on careers with national and local organisations including the BBC, STV, The Herald, Daily Record, The Drum, news agency Deadline and local newspapers.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
India
Minimum 60% in each subject from XII Standard exams
Advanced entry to Level 2 or 3 can be considered with equivalent study from Bachelor's degree
For programmes requiring an IELTS 6 with no element below 5.5 (or equivalent), we can accept 70% in standard XII English as evidence of English language.
Undergraduate
High School Graduation Diploma completed with a G.P.A of 2.7 plus one of the following:
ACT Composite score of 24 minimum
SAT(post March 2016) – score of 1000 minimum
SAT (pre March 2016) – score of 1500 minimum
AP’s - Generally we are looking for 2 Advanced Placements at minimum grade 3
2 SAT Subject Tests at a minimum score of 500
For some programmes across our academic schools, we will require ACT or SAT combined with AP’s or SAT subject tests at higher grades or in specific subjects
