Internships and Placements
Get ahead in the world of work with an industrial placement. Thanks to our strong business partnerships and cutting-edge applied research activities, we can offer you a wide variety of opportunities from short internships to year-long paid placements. More than half of our undergraduate programmes offer placements as part of the degree. See the progression tables on pages 39 and 43 to find out which degrees you can progress to that offer a placement.

• Advice on opportunities to study abroad or as part of a global exchange.
• Career clinics provide one-to-one appointments with a professional career adviser.

India

Minimum 60% in each subject from XII Standard exams
Advanced entry to Level 2 or 3 can be considered with equivalent study from Bachelor's degree

For programmes requiring an IELTS 6 with no element below 5.5 (or equivalent), we can accept 70% in standard XII English as evidence of English language.

Undergraduate
High School Graduation Diploma completed with a G.P.A of 2.7 plus one of the following:

ACT Composite score of 24 minimum 
SAT(post March 2016) – score of 1000 minimum
SAT (pre March 2016) – score of 1500 minimum
AP’s - Generally we are looking for 2 Advanced Placements at minimum grade 3
2 SAT Subject Tests at a minimum score of 500
For some programmes across our academic schools, we will require ACT or SAT combined with AP’s or SAT subject tests at higher grades or in specific subjects

Year 1
Scottish Higher: Standard entry requirement: AABBB (incl English/essay-based subject, Maths and two Sciences)
Minimum entry requirement*: ABBBC (incl English/essay-based subject, Maths and two Sciences)
A level: AAB (incl two Sciences or one Science and Maths)  GCSE: A/7 (Maths) B/6 (English) or AA/77 (Double Award Science); GCSE: Physics recommended
ILC Higher: H1 H1 H2 H3 H3 (incl two Sciences, Maths and English; Physics recommended)
IB Diploma: 30 points with H6 H6 H5 (incl two Sciences and Maths)
BTEC: D*DD Ext Dip (Science/Applied Science) GCSE: B/6(English) A/7 (Maths)
College HNC: Science-based HNC (incl Maths) - graded unit A; HNC that includes Physics recommended
SWAP: Access to Science and Technology - 75% overall (Distinction) or AAA on the first attempt (incl 80% in Physics module)

English language IELTS of overall 7.0 with 7.0 in Speaking and 6.5 in all other elements (or equivalent)
