This programme develops the skills and knowledge to manage infants, children and youth with common and important health problems. We advise that the University of Auckland is not involved in the employment of graduates and can make no guarantee of post-qualification registration or employment in New Zealand or any other country.

• During study, all students on a student visa can work up to 20 hours per week during semester and full time during vacations.
• After completing Level 7 Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Qualification, a student will get a three years open post-study work visa.
• After completing Level 8 Post Graduate courses of 1 year, students get 1 year PSW.

You must have completed, and held for at least one year, an undergraduate medical qualification such as the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB). Your study must have been at a recognized university (or similar institution).

Further programme requirements
 
You must also hold current registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand and you will need to have access to six months’ paediatric training whilst undertaking the programme.

Please note: No more than three of the six months can be in neonatal paediatrics, paediatric ENT, paediatric surgery, paediatric orthopaedics or paediatric neurosurgery.
