Music Production MA

The MA Music Production degree is designed for students with existing music production practice, to sharpen your skills and to deepen your understanding of the context in which you work. You are given the opportunity to develop an appreciation and understanding of the discipline of music production in terms of academic critique, as well as the industry-specific context of production practice.

Explore, broaden and challenge your music production skills, developing a sound understanding of practice-based research in music production.
You will be taught and guided by our expert staff, who have professional profiles within the industry, as you explore the theories and concepts that surround practice-based research in music production.
On this course you will examine the relationship between music and the wider cultural, social and economic circumstances of its production and reception. We encourage you to focus on contemporary ideas and developments emerging within the industry. Interdisciplinary learning is encouraged and you will consider complex questions about creativity and knowledge alongside students from other practice-led master's programmes.
