Bachelor of Laws
Lawyers help people who need legal advice, supporting and working with individuals, businesses, firms, corporations, or not-for-profit organisations to solve complex legal problems. This program is designed to produce law graduates with a practical focus, covering academic courses required for admission as a legal practitioner in Australia. Whether your interest is the global, international or national legal system, you will choose from a range of courses to prepare you for a career in the law.
In this program you will:
- Engage in active learning experiences and gain practical skills right from your first year.
- Research answers to legal problems, prepare advice, present legal argument, observe court proceedings, and take part in simulated court presentations in our Moot Court venue.
- Have the opportunity to further develop your skills by working with Legal Service clients under legal supervision in the elective Law Professional Practice or undertake a legal internship in a law workplace such as a law firm, court or legal aid service.
Law Honours is available, usually without extending the time required to complete your degree.

PSW Opportunity
Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.
- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
FOR INDIA
- All India Senior School Certificate – awarded by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) with a minimum grade average of 60% or better in the best 4 academic subjects in final year and and overall First Division results; or
- Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) with a minimum grade average of 60% or better in the best 4 academic subjects in final year and overall First Division results; or
- State board exams, other than Punjab State Education Board (PSEB) and Haryana State Education Board (HSEB), with a minimum grade average of 65% average across the 4 best academic subjects in the final year and overall First Division results; or
- Punjab State Education Board (PSEB) and Haryana State Education Board (HSEB) exams, with a minimum grade average of 70% average across the 4 best academic subjects in the final year and overall First Division results; and
- All applicants must have at least 50% in the theory component (where applicable) of any subject.
FOR BANGLADESH
- Higher Secondary Certificate, Intermediate Certificate - Minimum GPA of 3.50 out of a 5.00 point scale.
FOR NEPAL
- Nepalese Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) - Aggregate Division I and over 65% or GPA of 2.9 in final year, or
- Nepalese Proficiency Certificate or Intermediate Certificate (issued by a NOOSR recognised Nepalese University or the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT)) - Division I (over 70%).
FOR BHUTAN
- Bhutan Higher Secondary Certificate - Minimum 80% in the best 4 academic subjects (excluding Languages).
FOR SRI LANKA
- Sri Lankan General Certificate of Education ('Advanced' Level) - Aggregate score of 3 over the best three academic A Level subjects where A=4, B=3, C=2, S=1
