Bachelor of International Studies
You’ll develop an in-depth understanding of the political, cultural, and economic systems of other countries, with a focus on the United States and the Asia-Pacific region. You’ll become familiar with international institutions and the structures of global governance, and examine the relationship between the media and politics. You can also choose to complete an internship in a political setting (such as with state and federal politicians, Amnesty International, local councils or community organisations), giving you practical experience and industry connections.
In this program you will:
- Learn the fundamentals of public international law and international human rights law
- Intern with politicians or social welfare organisations
- Use your elective courses to specialise in a chosen area of interest
- Develop strong communication skills as you research and present arguments on international politics
- Have the opportunity to study overseas

In order to graduate you must:
- Successfully complete 288 units as outlined in the Program Structure

- Completing this program within the specified (full-time) duration is based on studying 48 unit points per semester (normally 4 courses)
- The unit value of all courses is 12 units unless otherwise specified
- It is each students responsibility to enrol correctly according to your course requisites, program rules and requirements and be aware of the academic calendar dates
- Courses within this program are assessed using a variety of assessment methods which may include essays, seminar presentations, reports, in-class tests and examinations
- As part of your USC program, you may apply to Study Overseas to undertake courses with an overseas higher education provider
- Only a full-time study option is available to international students on a Student Visa

INDIA
- All India Senior School Certificate – awarded by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) with a minimum grade average of 60% or better in the best 4 academic subjects in final year and and overall First Division results;
or - Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) with a minimum grade average of 60% or better in the best 4 academic subjects in final year and overall First Division results;
or - State board exams, other than Punjab State Education Board (PSEB) and Haryana State Education Board (HSEB), with a minimum grade average of 65% average across the 4 best academic subjects in the final year and overall First Division results;
or - Punjab State Education Board (PSEB) and Haryana State Education Board (HSEB) exams, with a minimum grade average of 70% average across the 4 best academic subjects in the final year and overall First Division results; and
- All applicants must have at least 50% in the theory component (where applicable) of any subject.
