Bachelor of Commerce (Honours)

This program gives you the opportunity to research an area you’re passionate about. You’ll build your research skills as you design and conduct a thesis study to contribute to commerce research, with the support of a supervisor with relevant research interests and expertise in your chosen area of study.

You'll learn to critically review relevant published literature and undertake useful and meaningful research. You'll also develop your presentation skills and deliver at least two lectures on your research progress.

Join our research student community and attend thesis seminars and discussion groups with fellow research students. At the end of your honours program, continue your research with further postgraduate study or a higher research degree.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have completed a Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Commerce, or a related degree with a major in accounting, financial planning or finance from a recognised higher education institution, with at least eight courses in the area of study of their dissertation topic.

A cumulative GPA of at least 5.0 (Credit level) in the Bachelor’s degree is the normal standard for eligibility for admission to the Bachelor of Commerce (Honours). These are minimum requirements and do not guarantee entry. Enrolment is contingent upon the University's capacity to provide appropriate supervision in the intended field of research.

INDIA

  • All India Senior School Certificate – awarded by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) with a minimum grade average of 60% or better in the best 4 academic subjects in final year and and overall First Division results; 
    or
  • Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) with a minimum grade average of 60% or better in the best 4 academic subjects in final year and overall First Division results; 
    or
  • State board exams, other than Punjab State Education Board (PSEB) and Haryana State Education Board (HSEB), with a minimum grade average of 65% average across the 4 best academic subjects in the final year and overall First Division results; 
    or
  • Punjab State Education Board (PSEB) and Haryana State Education Board (HSEB) exams, with a minimum grade average of 70% average across the 4 best academic subjects in the final year and overall First Division results; and
  • All applicants must have at least 50% in the theory component (where applicable) of any subject.
