Bachelor of Languages and Linguistics
The ability to communicate in other languages and cultures will help you in almost any career you choose. When you study a language at Griffith, you will not just learn to speak and write the words, you will also study linguistics - the science, nature, and function of language and how it is used in society. Understanding how languages are developed and used will help you gain a solid understanding of your chosen language.
You will apply your knowledge of linguistics and your chosen language in real-world challenges including second language learning and teaching, intercultural communication, and effective use of digital technologies.
You will learn in small classes, where you will receive individual attention. Whether you are a total beginner or quite fluent, you will find courses to suit you. You will also be exposed to the cultural context of your chosen language with options to pursue study overseas through exchanges and study abroad programs.
You will complete a Linguistics major and a major in one of the following languages:
- Chinese

- Modern Greek**
- Russian*
- Spanish.
