In this course, you’ll develop a broad understanding of human resource management (HRM) theories, functions, and communications. You will explore the contribution of HRM towards organization effectiveness and efficiency.
You’ll study the fundamental principles underpinning management theory, explore the associated practices in contemporary organizations and consider the future of management in light of 21st-century issues such as globalization, corporate social responsibility, and change management.
This course will also explore industrial relations in Australia, particularly the roles of the tribunals, the state, unions, and management. You’ll study collective and enterprise bargaining, negotiation, industrial action, and conflict.

A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a field of study other than Human Resources, or at least 5 years' relevant work experience. Applicants must also meet Curtin's English language proficiency requirements.
