Master of Accounting

This postgraduate course is designed for graduates who have experience in the accounting profession and a recognized accounting undergraduate degree. It comprises one-and-a-half years of full-time study.

You will study foundation units that will enable you to build advanced skills and knowledge in core accounting areas including auditing, corporate governance, data analytics, and visualization. This will put you in a position to provide high-level advice to management.

Once you complete your foundation units, you can specialize in one of the following majors:

• The CPA Australia Extension major, which meets the educational requirements of CPA Australia.
• The ACCA Global major, which prepares you to sit the Strategic Professional Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) examinations. This major is available from Semester 2, 2021.
• The Digital Technologies and Data Management major, which will enhance your understanding of big data, systems, and technology.

Note: This course differs from the Master of Commerce (Professional Accounting), which is tailored to graduates with minimal or no prior experience in accounting. This course is also different from the Master of Commerce (Advanced Accounting), as it has the ACCA (Global) and the Digital Technologies and Data Management majors in addition to the CPA Australia Extension major.
