Bachelor of Environmental Design

The Bachelor of Environmental Design program is envisioned as a strong multidisciplinary undergraduate degree in its own right and provides a solid base of design education for students intending to pursue careers and/or graduate studies in a wide variety of disciplines. These include the Faculty's masters degrees in Architecture, City Planning, Interior Design and Landscape Architecture, and at other institutions globally.

What is unique about this program at the U of M?
Studio is the core of the Environmental Design Program. The other courses give support to studio. All of the professors know each other and work together to create a unique environment where the students' creativity will be encouraged and pushed. Our Faculty researches areas of sustainability, material investigations currently including ice and tensile structures, concrete and furniture design, theoretical approaches, sound, light and art/design.

The University of Manitoba is the only University with all four areas of design under one roof and the only design school between Toronto and Calgary.
