Diploma of Photography and Photo Imaging
If you enjoy taking photos and want a quality education to pursue your career choice, then enroll into the CUA50915 Diploma of Photography and Photo Imaging. You will learn how to take spectacular shots in a range of contexts and how to manipulate the environment around you to help with your photography.
This Diploma will also develop your skills and knowledge in taking and developing photographs, composing, capturing, processing, and enhancing images using various techniques. It also covers the production of digital images, camera techniques, lighting, studio, and location work. Skills in business, publishing systems, markets, and photographic illustrations are also covered along with a range of variables including client needs and aesthetics.
You will have the opportunity to develop skills in industrial and scientific photography, fine art photography or photojournalism. When you graduate you will have a varied skill set aligned to industry standards such as producing commercial, portrait and stock photo images, research skills, and the knowledge to manage media assets.

1. You must submit six (6) pieces of your own work, that is, six black and white, or colour photographic prints comprising:
- A still life (i.e. using inanimate objects, with the product as the subject)
- A still life (i.e. using inanimate objects, with the product as the subject but different from Item 1)
- An environmental portrait (i.e. portrait of a person in their surroundings)
- A formal style (posed) portrait, e.g. family member/ friend
- A nature landscape, e.g. hills, trees, rivers, rocks – a combination of some or all
- A city/industrial landscape
Submit your images as digital image files (eg JPEG files). The following areas will be considered in the assessment:
- Composition, design and creativity
- Technical aspects, including camera focusing, exposure and
- appropriate use of shutter speeds and aperture controls
- Presentation
