Master of Work Health and Safety

The Master of Work Health and Safety (WHS) provides specialisation in Ergonomics, Occupational Hygiene or Risk Management. It is intended for students who want to pursue careers in these specialist fields. The Occupational Hygiene specialisation will fulfil the educational requirements for full membership of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH). 

This degree
UOW's Work Health and Safety programs have been developed in conjunction with a wide range of industry sectors to address the complex nature of occupational health and safety in the workplace. The program has a flexible mode of delivery, with online content delivered up front, and block teaching sessions of 3–5 days for exploration and application of subject material. On campus teaching components utilise a range of resources, including the well-equipped OHS Laboratory. 

What you will study
The Master of Work Health and Safety provides an intensive professional program of study in the area of occupational health and safety. The knowledge and skills you develop throughout the course will be applied to a research-based capstone workplace project in the final stage of the degree program. This will give you a high level of evidence-based professional practice in occupational health and safety.
