Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety

The Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety is a professional introductory degree for students holding a undergraduate degree or Graduate Certificate in either OH&S or Occupational Hygiene.

The knowledge and skills developed throughout this course will allow you to confidently address complex workplace occupational health and safety issues through technical knowledge and application. This degree also has an emphasis on communication skills and techniques essential to effectively implement OH&S strategies.

For students wishing to study further, this graduate diploma also provides a pathway to the Master of Occupational Health and Safety. All subjects successfully completed are credited towards the Master level degree.

This degree
This program has a flexible delivery mode combining online course content with 3-5 days of on-campus block teaching sessions focused on the exploration and application of the subject material. The on-campus component utilises a range of campus resources, including UOW’s well-resourced OHS laboratory.

PSW Opportunity

PG Diploma and Certificate courses are a pathway to the Master's Degree and students can get 2 years PSW visa if he/she completes the studies from Sydney Camus and 3 years PSW visa if the course is completed from Wollongong Campus.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

A recognised 3-year Bachelor degree; or either a Graduate Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or Graduate Certificate in Occupational Hygiene with a WAM of at least 65. Applicants with other relevant qualifications and/or work experience may be considered.

All subjects successfully completed in the Graduate Certificate will count as credit towards the Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
 
 
On the successful completion of the Graduate Diploma your subjects can be credited towards the Master of Occupational Health and Safety.
 
 
If you have completed postgraduate subjects in a similar degree at another institution, please provide evidence of the subjects and your results and consideration will be given for credit towards the UOW degree.
