A UFV Bachelor of Arts (BA) will equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to be reflective, articulate, and informed citizens within the Fraser Valley and beyond. To ensure their success in the fast-changing economy of the twenty-first century, the College of Arts offers skills, learning, and engagement in communication, critical thinking, quantitative literacy, scientific literacy, and personal and social responsibility, as well as deep learning in a range of majors, extended minors, and minors. Through the completion of an ePortfolio, students learn to reflect on, integrate, and communicate their learning, helping them to achieve their goals.

Campus Information

Abbotsford

The Abbotsford campus is UFV's main campus, located in the third most diverse city in Canada. This campus features classroom and office spaces, a large library, a cafeteria, a non-smoking, four-floor residence with 102 double occupancy suites, a bookstore, a sports centre, and a new 50,000 square foot student centre that integrates student activities and campus life with key academic and administrative offices.

Job Opportunity Potential

Career outcomes for Bachelor of Arts graduates relates to their chosen discipline and may include social services, management, community development, law enforcement, public relations, marketing and more.

Options are also open to pursue further studies and launch a career in arts, education, counselling, law, politics, or finance.

A long-range study by the Education Policy Research Initiative (EPRI) found that social sciences and humanities grads start out with average salary of $40,000 right after graduation. Thirteen years later, their earnings have moved steadily up to the $80,000 range, to match the average earnings of math and science grads.

For example, if you completed a 9-month program, we may give you a work permit for up to 9 months.

   We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for 3 years.

> If you completed more than 1 program
   You may be able to get a PGWP that combines the length of each program.

Each of the programs you completed -
must be PGWP-eligible and at least 8 months in length

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

  • B.C. secondary school graduation or equivalent.
  • A minimum grade of C+ in English Studies 12 or English First Peoples 12 (see Note) and a minimum of a B average in two additional Approved Grade 12 courses.
