The Speech Pathology and Audiology, B.S., will prepare you for a professional graduate program in the areas of speech pathology or audiology. You will gain hands-on experience identifying communication disorders in patients of all ages and develop treatment plans.
Speech-language pathologists evaluate, treat, prevent, and research communication disorders and audiologists assess and manage disorders of hearing and balance.

Job Opportunity Potential
After completing the broad curriculum that spans topics in anatomy, acoustics, physiology, and language, as well as clinical experience, students are prepared to apply for graduate education programs in speech-language pathology or audiology
A Masters degree is required to become a licensed and certified speech pathologist. A clinical doctorate (Doctor of Audiology) is required to become a licensed and certified audiologist.
Certified speech pathologists and audiologists seek careers in many areas. Major employers are public schools, hospitals, private practices, specialized clinics, and university training programs.

Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).
Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.
Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).
STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.

First-year students generally need a state-certified high school diploma or equivalent. They also typically need to have completed four years of English, math, natural science, and social studies in high school, along with a year of fine arts. Transfer students need a minimum GPA of 2.0 in college courses.
