Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Biomedical Science

Pursue your passions and maximise your career options with our combined bachelor's degree in music and biomedical science. You'll graduate with two degrees in just four years: a Bachelor of Music with a defined study plan and a Bachelor of Biomedical Science with a focus on a chosen discipline.

What will I learn?
In the Bachelor of Music, you'll acquire advanced practical skills in music, specialising in performance, composition, studio teaching or musicology. You'll deepen your understanding of music, collaborate with experts and visiting artists, and develop essential communication and critical thinking skills.
In the Bachelor of Biomedical Science, you'll gain comprehensive knowledge and skills to impact health and healthcare, understand the workings of the human body in various states and explore research skills and diagnostic treatment methods. This, combined with the skills and knowledge from your music studies, will prepare you for diverse and exciting career opportunities.

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.

  • Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
  • Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
  • Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
  • The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants

Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:

  • Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
  • Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
  • Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
  • PhD students can stay upto 4 years.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

  • To be considered for this course you need to:
  • achieve a minimum ATAR of 80 or equivalent
  • demonstrate English language competence
  • a strong background in music theory
  • a practical requirement equivalent to AMEB Grade 7, demonstrated by an audition
  • satisfying any prerequisites for your preferred majors (refer to individual major descriptions for prerequisite details)
