This course is designed to produce industry focused graduates with an in-depth knowledge of core accounting and finance principles and a strong practical understanding of how theory informs professional practice.
This course offers a focus on accounting, finance and data analytics through extensive use of work-based learning and practical application. It aligns to the growing needs of the professional services sector.
This course will be accredited by the major accounting bodies including Chartered Accountants Ireland (CAI), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Upon graduation, you have the opportunity to gain the maximum amount of exemptions available for an undergraduate degree from these professional bodies.
You will also have the choice to undertake a placement year or a year of study abroad.

Due to the exemptions available, you will also be a step ahead in your professional accountancy training. On successful completion of this course, it may be possible for you to progress to a Postgraduate Diploma / MSc International Accounting with Analytics on the Derry~Londonderry Campus, Ulster University.
Work placement / study abroad
In Year 3 you will have the option of a paid placement year in a range of local and international locations. This will provide a link between the subjects you have studied and your application in a 'real world' setting. Satisfactory completion of the placement year will lead to the award of the Diploma in Professional Practice.
You have also the option to study abroad for a year. Satisfactory completion of a study abroad year will lead to the award of the Diploma in International Academic Studies.
PSW Opportunity
- 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
- 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Each programme will have slightly different requirements, both in terms of overall points and certain subjects, so please check the relevant subject in the undergraduate on-line prospectus.
Normally Ulster University welcomes applications from students with:
All Indian Standard XII (Central Boards or a State Board) with an overall average of 60% to include 50% or above in 5 subjects Where a course has subject-specific requirements 60% will be required in each of these subjects.
OR
3 year Diploma in an engineering or technology subject from a State Board of Technical Education with overall 60% (Accredited by ACITE)
Usually the minimum English language entry requirement is IELTS (academic) of 6.0 (with no band score of less than 5.5).
Some of our courses ask for a higher score.
If you do not meet the English language requirement we will give you a conditional offer subject to you meeting the requirement before the commencement of the course.
