BSc (Hons) in Nutrition and Health
The B.Sc. (Hons) in Nutrition and Health will provide an approach to nutrition that is based on the founding principles of biology and biochemistry. It also links the impact of nutrition on physical performance and human health. Exploring the relationship between Nutrition and Health will provide greater understanding of the integration of these elements and the vital role they play in health and health promotion initiatives.
The primary aim of the course is to develop expertise in nutrition and apply this knowledge to the areas of health science, food and health promotion. Strategies and methods for the promotion of nutrition and health are explored and evaluated. This course blends the basic sciences, food science and specialist nutrition modules in order to provide the knowledge, skills and training required to work as a nutritionist, in health promotion, or as a food scientist.
The course aligns with national and international policies to encourage people to live healthier lives and graduates will be well equipped to respond positively and implement changes in light of rapid global food, nutrition and health changes.
