MA (Translation Studies)
The aim of this course is to train students in aspects of translation that will enable them to function professionally in the translation sector. The students will be given an insight into specific aspects of translation. The latest version of the Official Standard of the Irish Language will be scrutinized as the cornerstone of the translator's work. In addition to training in the most common types of translation texts, the student will also be challenged in the specialized areas of literary translation, legislative translation, textbook translation, subtitling translation and editing. In addition, modules in which texts will be translated from French to Irish will be available as part of the programme. Students will be introduced to the various technological tools used by translators of Irish—including computer-aided translation and subtitling software

The most recent Engineers Ireland Salary Survey shows that Electrical and Electronic Engineers are amongst the highest paid in all of the engineering and technology disciplines.
