Ontario College Graduate Certificate in Business Management - Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Do you want to be the founder of a company, a corporate innovator, or part of a high-growth, entrepreneurial team? Conestoga's Business Management - Entrepreneurship and Innovation graduate certificate is designed to activate these goals and give you a start in this growing sector of the Canadian economy. This program will equip you with the skills, tools, and mindset necessary to succeed in the world of entrepreneurship and innovation, including ideation, new venture creation, market research and experimentation, marketing and communication, operational frameworks, accounting, and venture finance, sustainable business practices, as well as Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB). Through a variety of projects, case studies, and interactive learning opportunities, you will develop critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills that are fundamental to success in the field. Located in one of the most desirable hotbeds of innovation and entrepreneurship activity in the country, you will have direct access to local business start-up incubators and unlimited potential to network with start-ups and innovative companies in the community. Individuals interested in pursuing a new business idea beyond the program will also have the opportunity to work further with the Venture Lab, Conestoga's Universal Business Incubator. This one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate program is offered in both full-time and part-time delivery to best suit your schedule and encourage interest from dynamic candidates.

Conestoga’s new campus inside Market Square opened in January 2020, initially delivering business programming for approximately 1,000 students. Additional programming will be introduced in subsequent phases as the campus becomes more established.

  •    You aren’t eligible for a PGWP.

> If your program was more than 8 months but less than 2 years

  •    We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for up to the same length as your study program.

For example, if you completed a 9-month program, we may give you a work permit for up to 9 months.

> If your program was 2 years or more

  •    We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for 3 years.

> If you completed more than 1 program

  •    You may be able to get a PGWP that combines the length of each program.

Each of the programs you completed -

  • must be PGWP-eligible and at least 8 months in length

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

  • A two- or three-year diploma or a degree from an accredited college or university
  • Applicants with transcripts from institutions where the language of instruction is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency with a minimum test score on one of the following language proficiency tests or equivalent scores from another internationally recognized English language test:
    • IELTS overall band of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0
    • TOEFL iBT 88
    • CAEL 70, no sub-test band score less than 60
    • PTE Academic 58
    • Conestoga English Language Test (CELT) Band 6
  • We offer a language program for students whose English language skills are below the standard required for admission but all other admission criteria have been met. An applicant will be eligible for admission to the graduate certificate program after completion of level 4 of the General Arts and Science - English Language Studies (ELS) program with an overall grade average of 80% and no grade less than 75%. Placement in the ELS program is determined by scores on an in-house English language test or TOEFL or IELTS.
