Career Events, Workshops and Job Portal

Humber’s Advising and Career Services provides supports and services that prepare you for your job search and future career. Here are some highlights of what they have to offer: Annual Career Week Events where you will have the opportunity to sharpen job search strategies, networking skills and get insider information from industry recruiters, Career Steps Workshop Series that help with resumé and cover letter writing, interviewing, job searching and more, Coffee chats with our Career Centre Assistants, to discuss career success tips, and Alumni interviews to discuss their career trajectory. Working While Studying

Part-time employment opportunities are available to international students for working both on and off campus. You can work up to 24 hours per week on campus, or up to 20 hours per week off campus, during regular school sessions and work full time during scheduled breaks, such as the winter and summer holidays or reading week.

Working on campus will help you gain valuable work experience, learn about services at Humber and earn extra money. Most positions are relatively flexible to your study schedule.

Working off campus is a great opportunity to gain first-hand experience with a Canadian company and work environment. You must have a valid study permit that states you are eligible to work off campus.

CareerConnect Job Portal

Humber’s CareerConnect Job Portal gives Humber students and recent graduates access to full-time, part-time, contract, summer, volunteer and on-campus opportunities. CareerConnect will help connect you to employers offering placement and co-op opportunities in your field of study, employment opportunities on and off campus while you study, as well as job postings with reputable companies for after you graduate. If your program was less than 8 months

•    You aren’t eligible for a PGWP.

If your program was more than 8 months but less than 2 years

•    We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for up to the same length as your study program.

For example, if you completed a 9-month program, we may give you a work permit for up to 9 months.

If your program was 2 years or more

•    We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for 3 years.

If you completed more than 1 program

•    You may be able to get a PGWP that combines the length of each program.

Each of the programs you completed -

• must be PGWP-eligible and at least 8 months in length

1.  Academic

To be eligible for admission, you must possess the following:

• A bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma

2. Resume and Cover Letter

3. International Credit Evaluation
Canadian citizens or permanent residents with international education are required to provide a credential evaluation. Note, for international High school education course by course evaluations, ICAS must be used. For international post-secondary education, a WES evaluation must be provided. In situations where you expect to apply for transfer credit, it is recommended that a course by course WES evaluation is completed.
