Diploma of Animal Technology

Through our animal technology course, you will gain industry knowledge and learn the practical skills required to work as an animal technician in a medical research facility or similar establishment.

As an animal technician, you will work with animals every day and be responsible for their care and welfare. In this course, you will gain knowledge about:

how to ensure the well being of animals
routine animal husbandry
basic non-surgical techniques
the use of anaesthesia in animals
animal breeding

You will need to be able to supply evidence of a current tetanus vaccination, completed Year 11 (or above) or be mature age.
