Master of Conflict Management and Resolution

Conflict management and resolution skills are essential within many fields, including in workplaces, legal contexts, domestic disputes, and even throughout your everyday life. In JCU’s Master of Conflict Management and Resolution, you will learn how to guide others through conflict to reach a positive resolution or strategy for ongoing conflict management that meets the needs of each person involved. Your understanding of the different conflict management styles and the best methods for engaging in conflict resolution will prepare you to provide effective resolution services in multiple settings and contexts.

In this conflict management degree, you will study a range of complex theories in the conflict management and resolution field, providing you with a highly informed understanding of the factors and strategies of conflict management. You will study subjects that cover a breadth of topics including conflict resolution process, conflict analysis, negotiation, facilitative mediation, cross-cultural conflict resolution and sustainable conflict management.

JCU’s Master of Conflict Management and Resolution has a strong focus on equipping you with communication skills that go both ways. You will develop not only the ability to express your own views succinctly and accurately but also the ability to hear the views of others and understand the true meaning and intent of those statements. Learn how to navigate conflict in cross-cultural contexts, understanding that cultural differences can mean differences in communication and conflict management styles.

Upon graduation, you will have expert skills in conflict analysis, management, and leadership. You will have an in-depth understanding of the range of strategies that can be used to intervene in and manage conflict. Your studies will help you develop your own conflict management style as well as experience in using conflict management styles appropriately in different settings and contexts.
