Master of Multimedia Journalism (Extended)
This two-year course is designed for students seeking to combine a thorough training in journalism with a four-unit specialisation in another complementary area.
The journalism component includes a strong emphasis on practical newsgathering skills. You'll learn how to produce multimedia journalism using industry-standard facilities and technology.
You will start creating news for online, radio and video in your first semester, and will be introduced to journalism’s crucial role in democracy.
You will experience work integrated learning as a reporter for the Curtin journalism news website, Western Independent. You will have the opportunity to focus on a particular area of interest, such as sports or political reporting. You will also gain analytical, collaborative and problem-solving skills through the design, planning and production of a major professional journalism project or research dissertation.
