There are a few points to keep in mind when choosing accommodation. Consider the distance from the campus and the amount of time it will take to get to class, work or other services. If you’re relying on public transport, make sure that the apartment is a walkable distance from a bus or train station that has regular services.
A variety of accommodation options are available for overseas students in New Zealand. These include:
1. Individual apartments for rent
The campus student support team can offer advice regarding apartment rental and there are also websites including the popular Trade Me Property offering rental accommodation options.
2. Shared apartments for rent
Shared apartments allow students to live with other people. One of the major advantages of renting an apartment with others is that the rent and utility bills are shared. It’s also a great opportunity to get to know other people and make new friends.
If you need more information, get in touch with Student Services on campus for assistance or talk to a more experienced fellow student.
